Most candidates show up with slogans. I’m showing up with drafts. Three of the items below are already written as legislation — they exist because the systems they fix broke on people I know.
Families & Courts
This is the fight I know best, and it’s the reason I got into this race.
50/50 custody as the default starting standard
Start every case at equal time between two fit parents — then actually enforce the order.
- Equal custody as the starting point, not a prize one parent has to win
- Escalating penalties for repeat violations of a standing order
- Children’s sports and extracurriculars as a required consideration in custody orders
- No child support obligation for a parent earning $50,000 a year or less
Family Court and Probate Accountability Act Drafted Bill
The people who decide where your children live should answer for how they decide it.
- Limits on immunity for guardians ad litem, amicus attorneys, and custody evaluators
- A State Commission on Judicial Conduct with real authority to act
- Ad litem reports disclosed to both parties before the hearing, not sprung at it
Attorney Accountability and Client Protection Act Drafted Bill
Texans deserve to know who they’re hiring before they hand over their savings.
- A public, searchable attorney grievance registry
- Written fee agreements required for any matter over $1,000
- Mandatory fee arbitration when a client disputes a bill
- A civil cause of action for attorney fraud
- An expanded Client Security Fund for people defrauded by their own lawyer
Courts that work for people without lawyers
The paperwork alone is enough to lose a case you should have won.
- Every Texas court on the state eFileTexas system — municipal, JP, and specialty courts included
- Electronic service and notice accepted in every case, for every party
- Full access for people representing themselves, not just for attorneys
Taxes & Cost of Living
Nothing in Austin matters if people here can’t afford to stay in their homes.
Cap property taxes at what you paid
Your home isn’t a rental from the government. Lock the tax and leave it locked.
- Property tax locked to the purchase price for as long as you own the home
- No annual increases because an appraiser decided the neighborhood got expensive
- Covers every residential property, rentals included — when the tax bill climbs, rent climbs with it
- Reassessment only when a property changes hands
- A surviving spouse keeps the original rate
A ticket shouldn’t cost you your job
The same fine is pocket change for one driver and a lost job for another.
- Cap traffic fines at 5% of a week’s take-home pay
- Stop the spiral from unpaid ticket to warrant to suspended license to lost work
- Penalties scaled to what a person actually earns
Make it cheaper to start a business
The filing fee shouldn’t be what stops someone from going legitimate.
- Cut the cost of filing a first-time LLC
- Lower the barrier for turning a side job into a real business
Turn empty offices into places people can live
We have vacant buildings and a housing shortage at the same time.
- Build on SB 840 and keep expanding office- and warehouse-to-residential conversion
- Target moderate- and middle-income housing, not luxury units
- Clear the state-level obstacles that make conversions slower than they need to be
Schools & Our Kids
Nearly every child in this district goes to Dallas ISD. Nothing I support comes out of their schools.
Real careers, not just another test
A diploma and a paycheck, instead of a diploma and a loan.
- High schools required to accept work-study for juniors and seniors
- Credit for 10 or more hours a week in a licensed trade, construction, networking, data cabling, or computer science
- Actual hours on an actual job site — not a classroom unit about a trade
- Hours count toward graduation requirements
Support for families who teach at home
Homeschool parents pay the same school taxes and save the state a full classroom seat.
- Education savings accounts that compensate parents for the work of teaching their own children
- Unused funds roll over instead of expiring
- Curricular independence protected — state money without state strings
- In addition to fully funding public schools, never instead of it
Protect kids from pornography online
Parents shouldn’t have to run a security operation to keep a phone from doing damage.
- Require social media platforms to keep pornographic content away from minors
- Real enforcement, not a checkbox buried in terms of service
Guard the data schools collect on children
School vendors hold an enormous amount of information about our kids, photographs included.
- Audit contractors that hold student data
- Require improperly retained student information to be deleted
- Bar vendors whose leadership presents a serious child-safety conflict
School meals worth eating
Parents are entitled to know what’s actually on the tray.
- A full accounting of what districts serve, what it costs, and who profits from the contracts
Safety & Accountability
Good officers are hurt most by a system that protects bad ones.
Body Worn Camera Transparency Act Drafted Bill
Footage belongs to the public that paid for the cameras.
- One-year minimum retention for all body worn camera footage
- A streamlined process for residents to request and receive footage
- Mandatory production of footage in civil and criminal proceedings
- Criminal and administrative penalties for unauthorized deactivation
- A permanent bar from Texas law enforcement for any officer who commits a crime with their camera off
Ban Flock cameras and warrantless mass tracking
Cameras should point at the government, not at the people.
- Ban automated license plate readers and similar mass-surveillance systems
- Stop the logging of everyone’s movements into private databases with no oversight
- If law enforcement needs to track someone, they can go get a warrant
Serious sentences for crimes against children
There is no version of this where the sentence is too short.
- A mandatory 25-year minimum for an adult 21 or older who sexually abuses a child under 14
- Capital eligibility for the worst of those offenses
- Preserve Texas’s rule that these crimes carry no statute of limitations — a survivor who comes forward at 40 deserves the same day in court as one who comes forward at 20
Health, Energy & Roads
The things that decide whether a neighborhood grows or gets left behind.
Expand Medicaid — with a trigger that protects Texas
Our hospitals absorb the cost of the uninsured, and Dallas County property taxpayers carry Parkland.
- Expand eligibility while the federal match stays at or above 90%
- An automatic reversal written into the law if that federal support is cut — the same safeguard nine other states already use
- Relieve the uncompensated-care burden that flows straight back into local property taxes
- Keep working the deeper problem: what healthcare costs in the first place
Data centers in corridors, not neighborhoods
If a company wants to run servers in Texas, it can generate what it burns.
- Designate data center corridors and keep large facilities out of residential areas
- Require large facilities to build their own power generation
- Require them to secure their own water rather than drawing down local supply
- Families shouldn’t pay higher electric bills so a server farm can stay cool
Protect Texas drinking water
Water is the constraint on everything Texas wants to do next.
- Reporting requirements for large industrial water users
- Efficiency standards for high-consumption facilities
- Residential supply comes first when there’s a shortfall
Highways for southern Dallas. No tollways.
This district has paid for its roads twice — once in taxes, again at the toll gantry.
- Build the I-35E to I-45 bypass south of the Trinity
- Add real capacity for the commute between southern Dallas and downtown
- Built once, free to drive — no tolls
Nuclear power and Texas natural gas
After 2021, reliable power isn’t an economic issue. It’s a survival issue.
- Expand nuclear energy programs in Texas
- Keep leveraging Texas natural gas production and export capacity for jobs and state revenue
Stand with Texas farmers
The people who grow our food are squeezed from every direction at once.
- Input costs, water access, and land pressure all hitting at the same time
- I’ll keep working directly with producers on what real support looks like
Government That Answers to You
The common thread in all of it: decisions should be made by people you can vote out.
Nobody voted for the THC ban
The Legislature never passed it. The Governor vetoed the bill that would have. Agencies wrote the rules anyway.
- Repeal the state scheduling that drives the arrests
- Support Texas-grown cultivation instead of pushing the market out of state
- Expand the Compassionate Use Program for patients who rely on it
- Federal hemp law is tightening on its own timeline — what Texas controls is whether Texans get arrested under rules nobody voted on
Term limits for every office in Texas
Career politicians forget who they work for.
- Term limits for every political office in the state
- Power should rotate through the people instead of pooling in Austin
No casinos in Dallas — and no school funding built on gambling
Southern Dallas needs infrastructure and jobs, not a casino.
- Casino revenue is regressive and unreliable — a poor foundation for funding schools
- Clarify the legal status of fantasy sports and federally regulated prediction markets instead of leaving Texans in a gray zone
- A 21-and-over floor and real limits on advertising
Research that helps veterans
Texas already funds this work, with support from leaders in both parties.
- Continue state-funded psilocybin and ibogaine research for PTSD and addiction
- Veterans carrying something they can’t put down deserve every serious option
Every $10 puts two more yard signs up across the district.
